Savitribai Phule Pune University (formerly University of Pune) is one the prominent universities in India. It is named after Savitribai Phule who was the Indian social reformer contributed towards women empowerment and emancipation through education. It was established in February, 1949 in Pune as the main educational center of Maharashtra. It offers various graduation and further higher education courses. University has the mission to provide an academically conductive environment, to develop the talent with skills, enable the students to collaborate with others belong to diverse backgrounds and countries as well, innovative learning process, researches etc. Many colleges are affiliated to S.P.P.U. from Pune, Ahmadnagar and Nasik districts.
